Renaming to 8.3

Hi All. I need a program to rename all folders and files in a large tree to 8.3 names? Can BRU do this?

Thanks... trying BRU now... but I find no way to set 8.3 names and no mention in the Help. Can you tell me how to do it?

If you mean the 8.3 name alias that Windows stores for backward compatibility, that's not supported by BRU, sorry. I meant you can make the standard names shorter to 8.3, thanks

That might be acceptable, provided if avoids duplication as do the Windows 8.3 names. Can you tell me how to do it?
