Import From Text Question

Postby Vulcanmgmt » Wed Aug 24, 2011 7:36 pm

Hello,

I currently have files named like this:

4416345367898725.09272007.6453768293.pdf
4416345367898725.10272007.3547283920.pdf

i.e. There are multiple files with the same first 16 digit string (which is the main identifier).

I have a .txt file with new file numbers that correspond to those 16 digit strings:

4416345367898725|10-0001
4416345367898726|10-0002

When I tried to run the utility, I first removed the last 19 characters from the original file. I had to add numbering at the end to differentiate the new files, otherwise they would not save. After saving, the new files looked like this:

4416345367898725-1.pdf
4416345367898725-2.pdf
Etc.

However, the key point now is that since my .txt file does not contain the new ending numerals, the import function cannot match up the files with their new names.

My ideal output is:

10-0001-1.pdf
10-0001-2.pdf
10-0001-3.pdf
10-0002-1.pdf
10-0002-2.pdf
Etc.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Ironically I believe I figured out how to do this using BRU a couple of years ago, but now I am at a loss!
