Yesterday's Date

Postby onl9rs » Tue Sep 18, 2012 8:31 pm

Hello. I searched everywhere, my apologies if this is posted elsewhere, I wasn't able to find it.

Is there anyway to use Bulk Rename Command to append yesterday's date to a file name?

Thank you in advance.

Hi,
Can be achieved as a 2 stage operation.
Stage 1.
Auto Date (8) set as Mode: SUFFIX Type: CURRENT and select required format.
Check New Name column is giving the required results - rename selected files.
de-activeate Auto Date (8), by unchecking it, that way you keep the format for any more renaming!
Stage 2.
Then using Repl. (3) replace current date-day number to the date-day number of the day before.
Check New Name column is giving the required results - rename selected files.

If you repeat this to rename another folder of files in the same session
- don't forget to uncheck Repl. (3) and to recheck Auto Date (8),
Hint: If settings all get messed up / confusing - click on RESET button (near Rename button).
Hope it helps.

Hi Derek. Thank you very much!

I was looking to automate this in a script, any ideas?

Thanks again.
