I have a share volume that uses AFP and SMB file sharing. The Mac guys have used some illegal characters in the folder names and I need to change these before moving the data to a NAS server.
Can BRU go several folders deep without manual intervention to find '&' and replace with 'and' ?

Yes, use Replace (3)

Replace: &
With : and

You can add spaces before and after and if you need.

Thanks, I get that but the difficulty is the actions needs to propagate through many sub folders. Can this be done in one action?

I suspect not because as each folder is corrected, the search results path to the folders/sub-folders will then be void.
If I use Mac automator to find & replace this character I'd have to do correct say all 5th deep folders first, then research and correct 4th deep foldders etc working back to the 1st level folders. Bit of a chore!

Have you guys got a miracle for me?

thanks Simon

That works! Without doubt, 'Bulk Rename Utility' is the best app I've bought in years!
A Mac OS version would be utopia. I think I need to get out more.
Thanks everyone, Simon

I can't get this to work. I'm trying to replace every instance of banner in example- (2015)-[1080p]-banner.jpg to (2015)-[1080p]-poster.jpg. Banner to poster. Pictures in subfolders...not sure what i'm missing. Any advice would be appreciated

Replace 'banner' with 'poster'

To select all of the files for renaming, can either use Ctrl+A or the menu... "Actions, Select All"
To make the selections automatic, can put a checkmark inside the menu... "Actions, List, Auto-Select All Items"
