BRU 3.0.01 Hangs on folder

Postby silverbullet » Sun Jan 15, 2017 10:58 pm

When I navigate to folders on a mapped drive BRU hangs. I have a drive mapped to Z:. I can get to Z: just fine, but when I go to any of the subfolders within Z: it hangs and never regains functionality so I have to terminate the process in Task Manager. I have tried this on a couple different computers and it reacts the exact same way. The network is not the problem as I have blazing fast file transfers since the network is all 1Gb/s ports and switches. Any suggestions on how to resolve this or if there is anything you need from me to track down this issue?

Thanks!

I have a similar issue with Network drives. It appears to be related to querying the Size and Date from a Network drive.

Here is a work around. Open BRU and navigate to a local folder containing files. Do a right click on the header bar and disable the Size and Date fields. You should now be able to navigate to a Network folder.

Hmm interesting as actually i'm having the same issue even brand new install on new computer is having same issue.

I *think* the issue and resolution is disabling the "show icons" in the options.
I initially tried the suggestion above but to no avail and also I am having this issue on a local folder with only 500 jpg's inside.

I think I haven't yet browsed this folder within windows and maybe the thumbs file hasn't been created, would that be confusing BRU?

By the way this is one awesome tool so thank you for allowing us to use for free for personal use
