heyhey .. first off .. thanks for your time and this program seems promising!

ive search through the forums and couldnt find an exact answer so here i am looking for help

im building arcade machines which requires alot of renaming and name matching etc etc..

so im trying to match the files/subfolder names to match the folder they are in

heres my structure

e:
hyperspin/
roms/
ps1/
then alllllllll of the ps1 games each inside there own folder

the problem im having is the bin, cue, ecm files inside the folder have the wrong names but the folders have the right names lol

ive tried selecting option #2 remove and #9 prefix but it just names everything to "ps1"

is what im trying to do possible.. ive tied my brain into a knot lol thanks in advance

Yes it is possible. You might be ticking something wrong. Let's see:
* Be sure that, in the top menu, Rename options -> Ignore -> File Extensions is disabled.
* Reset all criteria.
* On the folder tree, select the folder ps1.
* On Filters (12) enable Subfolders and Files for recursive search, disable Folders so only files are shown.
* On Name (2) select Remove.
* On Append Folder Name (9) select Prefix, with nothing as separator, and levels must be 1.

Now select all the files you want to rename. The column New Name must show only the name of the parent folder with the extension, like ico.bin, ico.cue, ico.ecm, re2.bin, re2.cue, etc., instead of ps1.*

I've tried exactly that with files in a similar tree fashion and this works.

man your the bomb! it worked for the most part.. everything didnt change all the way though

heres an example of what happened

(folder name) rhapsody a musical journey (usa)

(renamed files) rhapsody a musical journey (usa).bin
[psx] rhapsody a music journey [ntsc-u].cue

lol any idea of what i did wrong?

You must have the 'ignore file extension' setting properly set. Look at the 'New Name' column to be sure of how are you renaming the files and if it will delete the extension or not. I've found that the 'ignore extension' options have deceiving and counterintuitive names.
