Hi,

First let me say thanks for a brilliant app. It's the mainstay of my photo cataloguing method! :D

However, it seems that BRU won't process Date Taken dates that are pre 01/01/1971.

I am currently scanning in a load of 35mm slides, many of which were taken pre 1971. My photo cataloguing method, for all photos (both digital and scanned), is to use BRU to change the filename to the Date Taken date. For scans I set the Date Taken date to the approximate date of the original photo. Currently I use Lightroom to do so.

I can successfully set the Date Taken date in Lightroom to say 01/02/1966 and Windows Explorer will show the correct date too:

However, BRU shows the Date Taken as 01/01/1971 and shows the New Name to reflect the 01/01/1971 date:

I notice that BRU can now also set the Date Taken date. However, the calendar facility also wont go back further than 01/01/1971.

I have checked the exif specs and the BRU documentation and there doesn't seem to be a restriction on the date field, so I was wondering if I have missed something or is this just a "feature" of BRU. If it's a "feature" could I put in a request for this restriction to be removed??

Thanks, Jim

P.S.

I have found an interim solution... using Auto-Date, I set the fields as follows:

    Type > "Creation (Curr.)"
    Fmt > "Custom"
    Custom > "19660201 %H%M%S"
which approximately gives me what I want.

However, it would still be great to have pre 01/01/1971 dates supported!

Thanks, Jim

Yes, sorry about that, it's a limitation of BRU, it does nit support dates pre 01/01/1971 :(
