Hi, everyone!
First of all, I will admit to being frequently outwitted by inanimate objects. It comes with age.
I had a Win10 file restore go haywire on me.
I ended up with a parent directory, and many sub- and sub-sub-directories within parent. I have no problems at all with the directories - no changes desired.
The ~7k files contained within these directories have been appended with the date/time of the last backup: 59664976 (2018_04_14 12_56_22 UTC), where 59664976 is the file name that I want to keep, and (2018_04_14 12_56_22 UTC) is what I want to delete - along with the space preceding the ( open parenthesis. The date/time are not consistent from file to file, and the file names generally have letters, numbers, and spaces as a part of the file name.
I really want the correctly named files to end up in their original directory. Maintaining the time and date of the file created/file modified/file accessed would be nice, but not required.
If any additional information is required, just ask.
Anyone willing to help out an old man in his dotage has my eternal thanks.
