I need some help here, I haven't found a clear answer to this any where on the web however I found BRU tonight so I hope I can find a solution here.

I have a large amount of folders with a single .mkv files in each folder. The folders are named correctly but the mkv's are not. All I want to do is create a batch command that will name each mkv file the same name as the folder name its in and do it for all the folders in one go. can anyone help me with this?

Thanks.

Thanks for the quick reply! Apologies for the noob questions.

I just done that and it worked however it has kept the original file name and then added on the folder name to the file like so:

Folder name: American Dad.s01.e01

Original file name: qjdbkasndffi49fn.mkv

New file name: qjdbkasndffi49fnAmerican Dad.s01.e01.mkv

File name I am looking to get: American Dad.s01.e01.mkv

I know this is probably very simple to you guys so apologies again. I am not familiar with BRU. Is there a way to do this?

Sorry,

Last noob question lol.

How do I do multiple files that are in different files?

Basically select all the mkv files from different folders and rename all at once?

If the files are in subdirectories of your starting directory,

12:Filters -> Subfolders

may work.

Otherwise, I'd use Everything to find your wanted files, then drag them into BRU.

Ah right ok. I thought there wouldve been some sort of selection tool to select multiple folders and then rename the single file in each folder.

So I have a main folder which has downloaded content. Within this can be hundreds of folders with single files.

I want to select all folders within that download folder, and then rename to suit the sub folders. Not even sure if this is possible. Again I only came across BRU last night. So far it has saved me bags of time! However, if batch renaming is possible it would save me any work at all :D
