Windows XP numbering ?

Hello guys,

I'm sorry to bother you for such a basic question, but i'm trying to rename a bunch of files (from 1 to 999) with an XP logical sort sequence, such as :

FILE-1.csv become FILE-1.csv
FILE-2.csv --> FILE-10.csv
FILE-3.csv --> FILE-100.csv
FILE-4.csv --> FILE-101.csv
.
.
.
FILE-12.csv --> FILE-109.csv
FILE-13.csv --> FILE-11.csv

I know there is an option called "Logical Sorting", wich allows me to sort my files with an XP logical sort-sequence, but my goal is to rename my files with such a sort-sequence, as explained in the exemple... Is this even possible ?
I thought the "revert" option close to the "rename" button would allow me to do this, but it seems that it's not used for this purpose ^^

Hey !

As you know, there is an option in this software (Logical sorting) that allows you to sort your files with or without the Windows default Windows sort sequence (i'm quoting the software help here) and I have 999 files sorted with a suffix such as file-1.txt, file-2.txt, file-9.txt, file-52.txt ... until file-999.txt

The windows logical sort sequence will sort my files in this order : 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,...,998,999 (when "Logical sorting" is checked)
In the opposite, the absolute sorting sequence will sort my files in this order : 1, 10, 100, 101, 102,..., 109, 11, 110, 111, 112,..., 119, 12, 120, 121, 122 ... until 999 (when "Logical sorting" is unchecked), you get it.

So I was wondering, since it's possible to sort files with an absolute sort sequence, to RENAME them with an absolute sort sequence, using the numbering option available in the software...
Basically, I want to sort them with the logical sort sequence, and rename them with an "absolute sort sequence" (quite difficult to put words on it, so I was giving an example)

Example :

NAME------NEW NAME

1.txt-------1.txt
2.txt-------10.txt
3.txt-------100.txt
4.txt-------101.txt
5.txt-------102.txt
.
.
.
12.txt------109.txt
13.txt------11.txt
14.txt------110.txt
15.txt------111.txt
16.txt------112.txt
.
.
.
23.txt------119.txt
24.txt------12.txt
25.txt------120.txt
26.txt------121.txt
.
.
.
23.txt------119.txt
24.txt------12.txt
25.txt------120.txt
26.txt------121.txt

etc...

Did you get it this time ? Hope I was clear... I know it's not an easy request anyway ! I'm trying to put an image of what I succeed to do in Bulk rename utility, but I want to do the opposite (switching the "Name" and "New Name" column)

Hi,
This should be controlled for in section.

Numbering (10)
PAD=

Padding allows you to set the amount of 0's for padding when you re-number your files names.
Adding no 0's should give you absolute numbering order.

Hope this helps.
[Edit] Remember filter min, max
You can sort by filtering out by any digit amounts. Like say 7 digits long. Will only show names 7+ digits long then add zeros to the end if needed.
I'm still not getting your before and after names, but this should help you.
