BRU Causing Ghosting On Media Player Close

That's about it.

BRU, open, full-screen, doing nothing.
Everything open, & I click on some video.
Close the video & a ghost image remains.

First time I noticed this.
(Though I typically do not have BRU open, much less when playing a video clip).

BRU 3.2.0.1
Win7 x64
Everything
MPUI GUI front-end to MPlayer

BRU happened to have been opened.
BRU happened to be the background application.
I click on a video clip from within Everything.
Video plays in MPUI/MPlayer.

Other then that, nothing out of the ordinary - except that I did not have any browsers open at the time.
(Browser would typically be my largest memory users.)

If I open BRU windowed, & push it to the side,
& I open a video clip (as above), it opens centered,
& if the player overlays BRU - at all, then I get the ghost.
If, & even after having already opened the video, I move the player just outside of BRU's "realm", it closed cleanly, no ghost.

(Can't get a screenshot with the ghost, well, without a camera, as the screenshot program doesn't see the ghost.)

Ha!
So today, out of the blue, I take a look at AIMP, & it causes exactly the same situation.

Hi, do you have the ability to test on > Win 7 ? i.e. Win 8 or 10?
Asking because I was wondering if it is an issue relatedt to Win 7 only or also newer OSes.
thank you

I looked at two 10's & another 7.

Win10, both worked OK.

Win7 (the second) also failed.

Screenshot.
This time I did get the ghost ;-).
(Thought that if I took the shot with windows PRNTSCRN rather then my screenshot program..., & it worked.)

What you see is the ghost.
Player itself is closed.
When I moused over the section that "bled" through, it then showed what it should have shown, leaving the "untouched" portion of the ghost remaining.

Is the ghosted part also on "Everything"? Or is it just a BRU issue?

Update the video driver?

BRU only (well, & AIMP).

I don't know that there are any video driver updates (Intel HD4000, on chip, in the first instance [I thought I had included that, but looks like I didn't])?

I also thought I had mentioned, but again looks like I didn't, that there is no issue with BRU 3.0.0.1.
3.1.0.0 & up all exhibit the behavior.

Go here:
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/28799/Intel-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-15-33-?product=81499
Check to see if your processor is listed at bottom right (scroll down). I bet it is.
Then download and install the latest driver, the one at top left, win64_15.33.48.5069.exe I bet that fixes it.

We have made a small change to the way the main window paints in BRU, using a modern Windows API function that uses Alpha Blending...
I think that is what causing the issue... but it could be a Win 7 problem. Is it BRU only in combination with the two media players?

With a quick look...

It looks to be a combination of BRU and MPUI (GUI for MPlayer) and MPlayer (media player).
Again, AIMP and MPUI/MPlayer caused the same situation.

With that quick look, MPlayer alone (i.e., dragging a file onto mplayer.exe, then bringing the mplayer window overtop BRU) did not look to display the issue.

(I'll note that MPUI also puts out a [dated] mplayer back-end, but I only use his stand-alone GUI portion, along with the more current MPlayer linked above.)

My programs/utilities & computer systems (for that matter) are rather static.
I tend to use what is right for me & pretty much stick with it.
I use certain programs all the time - including Everything & Salamander, & MPUI/MPlayer as my media player.

Oh, also, I do not use Windows "Aero" (or whatever it is) theme.
(I turn off all that "fancy" crap & my Win7 looks like XP. Maybe they call it, Window Classic?)

So looks like there is a more recent driver.
I'll have to investigate that.
Appears that I'm on 10.18.10.4885 (or some such).
(Yeah, that looks to be it, as I have 'win64_15.33.46.4885 (Intel HD4000 Graphics Driver 15.33)_532583.zip' on hand.)
(Not in a position where I'd want to reboot, presently?)
