Change extensions of 19,000 files in several subdirectories

I've moved all of my music from CDs to *.flac files.

Now I find out that my auto does not read .flac files, only MP3s and such.

So, I downloaded BRU to rename all .flac file extensions to .mp3.

However, BRU says, "Sorry, too many files selected."

I thought this was a bulk rename utility, yes?

What now?

Is your intention here to convert your flac to mp3?
If so, simply renaming the extension will not accomplish that.

I just did 11,000 files, 1 directory, no extensions, changed them to .flac.
Worked fine (& rather speedily on my XP system).
(And now, 23,000 files, 1 directory, with logging, changed from .flac to "".
And Undone.)

What rename settings did you have enabled?

Do you have logging enabled?

Doesn't look like that is affecting anything.

I experienced the same "too many files selected" problem when I right-clicked and loaded 400 files in BRU. They were placed in a folder with a long file name. When I shortened the folder name the problem disappeared.
