HEIC photos not showing "Date Taken" in BRU

These files (from an iPhone) have the "data taken" file property filled and I can see it listed in Windows 10 File Explorer as a sortable column. If I open the folder in BRU, all the JPEG format photos properly display "Taken (original)" but non of the HEIC files populate that field, even though they contain the metadata.

Is this a bug?

To be clear, the "Date Taken" metadata is not EXIF but part of the File Properties in Windows. The specific field is "System.Photo.DateTaken"

I think this problem could be solved if that data was available as a filterable column that we could use for auto date naming.

Hi, System.Photo.DateTaken cannot be shown in the column set of the file list, but it can be used to rename files.
In a future release we plan to add a custom column where you can display a tag as needed.

Has this been added? Or is there another way to rename according to DateTaken? My HEIC files won't show the DateTaken property. Thank you

To be more clear my issue is that I need to sort the picts by date taken and then rename them. However, HEIC and MOV extensions won't show the date taken property and won't get sorted. Only JPEG,JPG.

This has been added to BRU version 3.4.0.0
There is a new date called "Item Date" which is the creation date for HEIC, MOV, video and all media in general, also JPG.
"Item Date" is both a column in the file list, that can be used for sorting, and a new entry in AutoDate (8).

Hi,
Item Date works well for iPhone's .mov videos, but it does not work for iPhone's .heic photos. It is not visible in the BRU interface although Windows properties are Ok.

Also, New Name is really new only when a file is selected.

Thanks,
Oleksandr

Thank you, we indeed found an issue with the latest version and HEIC files. We will release a fix with the new version 3.4.1.0 which will be available early next week.

When I use the "Item Date" property it seems to set the seconds to zero (all other date values are correct). Switching back to "Taken" the seconds are properly used and displayed. Is this a (known) bug of the "Item Date" property or am I doing something wrong. This is not specific to HEIC files though, happens with JPG ones too.
