Bulk Rename Utility

Hi Support Forum,

First post so I hope this is not a duplicate post.

I am running BRU version 3.3.2.0 and the warning and confirmation messages that appear before and after renaming are turned on by default.


My preference is to have these settings off however upon exiting and reopening a new instance, the settings return to their default state.


I tried editing the following lines in the Bulk Rename Utility.ini file:

Code: Select all

Display Warning Message=0
Display Confirmation Message=0

However, my preferences are not retained. Is this a bug?

Hi, when you change the options and then exit BRU, does the INI file changes with the new options saved? Does the INI file timestamp changes?
I wonder if it is not accessible....
In which folder are the Bulk Rename Utility.exe and Bulk Rename Utility.ini, are you using the portable version?

Hello,
I have the same problem with the latest version of BRU - it reset settings to default after first start of the program.
It can write settings to ini, you can see these changes are saved there, but it doesn't apply on the start. I saved my settings as a favorite file, it applied on the next start, closed the program again and it reverted to defaults. Also returned check marks on confirmation and warning messages.

Here is a screenshot where you can see the settings in .ini had no effect in the program.
