BRU portable version on File Share no Explorer extention.

Hi Folks,

Running the latest portable version of Bulk Rename Utility. Works like a charm. However I am missing the explorer extention. Tried to register BRUhere64.dll. That wil add the extention, but it still looks for the program in Program Files. It should look to the share were BRU is located.

Is there a fix for this?

Thanks in advance,
Herman F.

Greetings Herman.
Its unfortunate, but Im not know anything about how .dll chooses which folder to find the BRU?? But if you can give "full path to the Bulk Rename Utility.exe", I can make batch to create a registry setting without needing any .dll, so that right clicking a folder does always present "BRU Here".

Tried to register BRUhere64.dll

How did you do that?

Are you (also) using the 64-bit version of Bulk Rename Utility.exe?

That wil add the extention

So, "Explore here with BRU" (or however it reads) does show up?

If you manually change that items entry in the Windows Registry, does it then work?
(Nirsoft's) ShellMenuView might help? Maybe not? Not sure?)

Looked to work correctly on my end.
Maybe you need to run the regsvr32 command from BRU's "instalDir"?
(I use 32-bit BRU & regsvr32.exe.
C:\DEV\RENAME\BRU-test>regsvr32.exe BRUHere.dll)
Code: Select all
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\{5D924130-4CB1-11DB-B0DE-0800200C9A66}\InprocServer32

Shows it's looking for, in my case, BRU here (which is where BRU is "installed"):
Code: Select all
C:\DEV\RENAME\BRU-test\BRUHere.dll

on File Share

In your subject: explain what you mean by "File Share"?

Hi, the DLL expects Bulk Rename Utility.exe to be in the same folder.
