Hi,

I suspect that this is any easy one to answer but here goes..........I have renamed a sample of photos but whilst the rename works correctly the photo thumbnails are now blank. When I open them in Photoshop that are sill there and all the background data is in tack.
What have I missed?

Thanks

Did you rename the extension?
Maybe it is an extension that windows does not know how to provide thumbs for?
(I don't know how Windows works, as in if it only looks at an extension or if it actually looks at a files header or...?)

If you rename the file back, does the thumb "turn up"?

Maybe it's a Thumbnails Cache issue?
(I'm not familiar with that.)

Thanks for your suggestion. It does indeed look like an "Extension" fault. As I work through the various headings I can see what effect each has. The best result is to leave the Extension as "Same" despite the .jpg in the example window. No .jpg shows in the final conversion and the photos remain in the thumbnails.

Many thanks 'therube'
