Bulk Rename Utility

Hello,

We have a big NAS server that contains thousands of folders with hundres or thousands of files within each folder (mostly tifs). BRU works fine if the folders and files are copied over locally, however working off the NAS with BRU is pretty much unusable because it takes an incredibly long time for the software to load the files and folders. It's gotten to the point where I find it is faster and easier to write R scripts to do bulk renaming than wait for the software to load the files. The NAS is connected via 1gigabit connection, and while it is not the fastest it shouldn't be taking BRU so long to load the files. Loading files off the server into other programs never takes as long as loading them into BRU. What's going on here?

Hi, is BRU set to extract info from the files with

ID3 / Exif Data / File Properties > Extract Exif Data

or

ID3 / Exif Data / File Properties > Extract ID3 Data

or

ID3 / Exif Data / File Properties > Extract Windows File Properties
