I am using a Nikon D70 and shooting in raw mode(.nef). The date does not show when using auto date. version 2.2.7.0 and extract EXIF data is checked. Appears to work ok on jpegs.

thanks,
JJ

Hi,

The softeware only extracts from JPEGs, as there's too many formats for RAW. My own camera (Conon EOS-20D) uses .CR2, and it's yet another format.

So, just JPEGs I'm afraid.

I haven't worked with BRU to change file extensions nor with raw images from my camera, but I am investigating the possibilities. Since Date Taken isn't available for raw files (I too have Canon 20D & CR2 format), is this a possible work-around?

1. Rename all .CR2 files to have a suffix of CR2 & extention of .JPG

2. Assuming Date taken info would then be available, rename as desired using Date Taken.

3. Rename to remove the CR2 suffix and change the extension back to CR2.

No sorry. The Date Taken information is extracted from specific points within the file, according to the file format. .CR2 files have a different format (closer to TIF than to JPEG).
