v2.7.1.2

Is there anywhere (reputable) that still has a 2.7.1.2 installer? 64bit is needed.
I've installed the new v3 and would like to revert, but there seems to be no means by which to do this without the old installer.

Cheers, and thanks!

Yes, is this possible please? I have very limited screen space on this portable—and while I certainly appreciate your continued development, I've found v.3's extra graphic elements make it harder for me to use. Thanks!

Here are several old versions, from my HD and elsewhere:https://www.mediafire.com/folder/9i706rxm4ion0/BRU

Check to make sure you are downloading an "x64" version. Check the digital signature, too, to make sure no one (including me) has tampered with the installer.

Thanks so much! I've just downloaded 2.7.1.3 (which I think was the last version I used before v.3). Here's a screenshot of it running on my notebook:

...and here's one of v.3:

As you can see, v2 has literally twice as much space to see files and folders.

Don't get me wrong—I'm a long-time BRU fan (like, years). But in comparison to v2, I'm afraid I find v3 practically unusable.

Was it really necessary to add a separate title bar below the window's existing one? And an address bar, which we did fine without for so long (with the file "tree" at the left, and the great Ctrl+J "jump" command)?

And adding move/copy functions, as though BRU were now a file manager? And what does "Move/Copy Parts" even mean?

I'm sure some people find the new functions useful. If they were collapsible, though, we could regain some file-list real estate and actually see the stuff we want to work on. :?|

Anyway, OV, thanks again for your trouble. Sometimes, clearly, "less is more". Cheers, A.

Thanks for being so responsive. I think we all realize that software development is an ongoing process, and that the best products come from interaction between developers and users... Cheers, mate!

Hey There!

Thanks for posting these old versions! But I really wanted the old portable no install version as well...

I found a site with all the old versions, but they were super shady, so I went through my old archives and found a portable / no install version.

The zip file contains both 32 and 64-bit versions and instructions. I have no idea to what extent it works on Windows 10.

BRU_NoInstall_v2.7.1.3.ziphttps://drive.google.com/open?id=1Ase7obROCM0bDi9SftspCfIaDthUBGs-

Hope this helps.

Well, it's been over a year now, and I don't think we've seen that happen yet, have we? Unless there's some way I haven't yet discovered to collapse unneeded sections of BRU 3.0.0.1?

My old post's images expired—so here are a couple of screenshots, showing the difference in "real estate" between the two versions:

Those screenshots are BRU maximized on my laptop (3200x1800). As you can see, v3.0.0.1 has about one third as much vertical space to view and select files and folders.

I can't speak for everyone, but I never use the features that were added in v3. It'd be great if we could hide the sections we don't need, so we could see more files... Are you really going to add that, or were you just idly musing about it?

Thanks, A.

Sorry, I linked to thumbnails of the screenshots, not the actual images. (And we're not allowed to edit our own messages? Or am I overlooking that?) So here they are again:

Considering that BRU works with files and folders, it'd sure be nice to be able to see more than 6 of them at a time!

That's awesome—thanks!

It's quite generous of you to allow free personal use of BRU, and I hope I didn't seem too critical... We appreciate all your effort.

Nice icon! Did you draw it? If you have vector / png or ico format we could add it as program icon for next release 8) :)

Thanks for the compliment—but rather than "reinventing the wheel" and creating a logo myself, I did some Googling and found someone had made one for their YouTube review of BRU.

Here's a hi-res version of the logo, which I found similarly.

I can't speak for them, of course—but I imagine that if you contacted the reviewer(s), they might feel flattered that you'd be interested in using it.

BTW, I would've just added this to my previous post, but we can't edit our own posts here—on a website for software you use to edit stuff? :P
