Re-numbering

Postby flyhigh » Wed Sep 28, 2011 4:06 pm

I have been trying to rename 1429 photos that i have stuffed up by attempting to rename them . All i want to do is have them renamed ie MELB0001, MELB0002, MELB0003...........MELB1429
Each time i try and use the BRU there is always a glitch ie some stupid out of sequence numbers just show up. I am trying to put them into a slideshow but everything turns to crap when i try and insert them.
Please show me step by step how to do it properly. I have tried "2", "7", and "10" method but still does not want to play the game. I dont care how the numbering/letters are. Just as long as i have them all in numerical order from go to whoa.
Please guide me through step by step as i have just started to use the BRU. I have read some of the renaming topics but just cant get it
THANKS

This should be posted under BRU support, not command line.

One way:

In File(2) section, have it checked and:

have *.* in the file name field
have Remove selected in the drop down box

In the Add(7) section, have it checked and:
in Prefix field put MELB and the pos field set to 0.

In the Numbering(10) section, have it checked and:
Mode set for Suffix
at = 0
Start = 0
Incr. = 1
Pad = 4
Sep. = blank i.e. nothing, not the word blank
Break = 0
Type = Base 10 (Decimal)
Roman Numerals = None

Hope this helps.
It worked fine for me.
(You did know that you also have to select the files in the name column, right?)

P.S.
This was also already handled by bitmonger in the forum at:
