Date Taken extraction issues

Postby mlbk » Wed Aug 05, 2026 9:40 am

Hello guys,

BRU cannot extract Dake Taken of some images, even though it does appear in the file properties in Windows.

I haven’t found any reason or pattern why it does so. No matter if I use Add (7) or Auto Date (8). I’ve upgraded to the latest version. An older version did it too.

Could you please help me with this?

Thank you!

If you right-click on an image, Show EXIF Info, you will see what BRU sees.

4284, BRU sees nothing - for whatever reason?
2336, BRU does see the date, though it calls it <(exif:datetime)> rather then <(exif:datetimeoriginal)>.

With <(exif:datetime)>, 2336 does work, but 4284 still does not.

(I'll note that Everything, does display date-taken: for both files,
or searching for date-taken:2020-08-28 will find 2336.)

Thanks for looking into it. Yes, that’s the problem, it sees nothing but I don’t know why. I’ve got a bunch of pics like that.

Use Item Date within Auto Date (8), or <($System.Photo.DateTaken)> within Add (7).

Thank you, it finally shows hours and minutes but still not seconds.
Is there any workaround for this?
