Stuck in "Scanning... press ESC to cancel."

I drag and drop 1000 image files to rename them. But this software gets stuck in "Scanning... press ESC to cancel."
My computer is not slow. I wait 1/2 an hour and its still stuck there.
What is it scanning ? Can't it be made faster ?

The BRU statusbar should give you some information.

Something like: 1887 Objects (1887 Selected)
Or: 1887 Objects (1 Selected)

That should tell you that it did in fact "scan" your 1000 files
(& even though the 'Scanning... press ESC to cancel' indicates otherwise).


What is happening is something similar to, File list capacity.

(Separately, there could be maximum fullpath length issues of files dragged into BRU.)

I see this as well - the workaround is to highlight just a couple of files and open BRU, then click on the referesh icon on the top right and it works.

Sadly this is probably another bug/fix that will not get looked at
