Saving Settings

Postby duehew » Wed Dec 14, 2016 1:26 am

I must be missing something. I have created two different .EXE files for 12 hour and 24 hour format. I have renamed files just fine but when I exit out of the program and re-execute the program my settings are NOT there. I have done this from a shortcut on the desktop and even from the folder where the executable resides and no INI file is created and my settings are not there. What am I doing wrong?? Thank you.

To be honest I'm not 100% sure what you mean.

If you're trying to set up a renaming configuration and save it you do so by setting all the rename options you want to use then go "File/Save As", you will save the settings as a .bru file, you reuse a favourite (saved configuration) by clicking "File/Open" and choose the .bru file you want to use.
Having said that, I've found the quickest way to open a favourite is by going "File/Recent", but that may depend on how many favourites you've saved, I'm not sure how many favourites are stored in "File/Recent".

Be aware that if you close BRU with a favourite open the next time you open BRU the favourite will also open, the way I've found to avoid this is by before closing BRU go "File/New" or hit Ctrl+N.

Sorry if I've misunderstood and this is not what you're trying to do

Thank you for your reply. From what I read in the help file and the manual.pdf it says when you close the program an INI file is created with your settings which was not happening. Your method makes more sense which I will try. Thanks again.
