NB: The quotation marks near the start do not appear in the program when the .bru file is opened.

A similar thing happens with Replace (3).

Yes, BRU only reads the 1st 999-characters saved for each setting in the .bru-file.
Its unfortunate, but BRU also removes ALL of the double-quotes from the .bru-file.
Since saved like Setting="this", maybe they can change the code to only remove the 1st/final quotes?

Hi, we will check this for version 3.5 , see if we can increase the limit from 999. Also the quotes should not be dropped.

To be clear - I meant the truncation here, not the quotation marks.

Maybe change the limitation to 500/1000 items rather than 5,000 characters? Similar for RegEx (1) and Replace (3).

Hi, we tested this and the edit controls behaved incorrectly after a certain amount of chars so we had to limit at 5k
