RegEx(1) Bug where "Replace" Empty

If "Replace" is blank it will not make the change, the same thing for "Replace(3) works with empty replacement text. I have noticed that ticking v2 resolves this issue but since there is no tooltip for that (or anything else?) I don't know if that is it's purpose, if so it is rather cryptic.

Windows 11, app ver 3.4.4.0

P.S. The .chm also doesn't work, only displays contents and no help.

It looks like I installed the portable version and therefore needed to unblock the .chm file, it now works. Not sure if there is a readme but that info probably should be added somewhere (if it is not already).

I have now looked at the info and can't see that v2 allows blank replacement where v1 shouldn't, so is that a bug?

Hi, it's just the way PCRE regex work (v1 in BRU) vs version 2. In the new version of BRU, RegEx v2 will be the default.
