How to re-name image files without losing my mind

Postby mwidunn » Mon Feb 02, 2026 12:33 am

I have a batch of images (.jpg) that I want to re-name.
The name for each file is generic: date taken, etc. I want to change their names to something else that is more specific: "Lily the Cat 1,...2,...3,...and so on.
I know, I can use BRU to do this, but . . . : I need to see ALL the files in order to know what I am doing when re-naming. Just seeing filenames is like flying blind. Using "Picture View" to see each individual file is just not useful (to say the least).
Is trhere any way to change the viewing option, so that it shows large or small icons, instead of just filenames?
Thanks!

Sort them into separate folders first, using large icons/extra large icons setting in Windows Explorer, then rename as needed using BRU.
