Combining folders

I don't think this is possible, but thought I would ask. Is there a way using BRU to combine a folder with its subfolder that has the same name? The folder is empty except for the subfolder. I have a LOT of these and it's so tedious to do them one at a time. They were zip files and the unzip program made the extra folder when unzipping. I tried turning off that feature, but then sometimes I ran into zips that did not have any folders inside and it was a mess figuring out which files went together. Thanks for any replies.
